Frequently asked questions

Good questions, straight answers.

How requests work, what to expect with fares and hotel rates, and what we can and can’t do for International Driving Permits.

Flights

Is sending a request the same as booking?

No. A request tells us what you have in mind. A consultant replies with options, prices and conditions. Nothing is booked, held or charged until you choose an option and confirm it with us.

What details do you need to start?

Where you are flying from and to, your dates (or how flexible they are), and how many adults, children and infants are travelling. Preferences such as cabin, airline or departure times help us shortlist better.

How much baggage is included?

It depends on the airline, the route and the fare. We tell you the checked and cabin baggage included with each option before you decide.

Can I change or cancel a ticket?

That depends on the fare rules set by the airline. Some fares allow changes for a fee, some allow refunds, and some allow neither. We explain the rules for your option before you confirm. If your plans change later, contact us and we will check what your ticket allows.

Do I need a visa for my trip?

Entry rules depend on your nationality, your destination and any countries you pass through. Please check the official government sources for each country on your route before you travel.

Hotels

What does a hotel quote include?

Each option shows the room type, meal plan, total price for your dates and the rate conditions. If anything is payable directly at the hotel — such as a local tax where it applies — we point it out.

What are check-in and check-out times?

They are set by each hotel. We include them with your options and can ask the hotel about early arrival or late departure, which is usually subject to availability.

Can I cancel a hotel booking?

It depends on the rate. Flexible rates can usually be cancelled free of charge until a deadline; non-refundable rates cost less but cannot be refunded. The conditions are shown before you confirm.

Why do you ask for children’s ages?

Many hotels price rooms and extra beds by age, so the ages help us quote accurately. We only ask when children are travelling.

International Driving Permits

Do I need an International Driving Permit?

It depends on where you will drive and on your licence. Some countries require an IDP, others accept certain licences on their own, and rental companies may set their own rules. Tell us your destinations and we will help you check.

Can Star Wings Travel issue an IDP?

No. IDPs are issued by authorised organisations in the country that issued your driving licence. In Saudi Arabia that is the Saudi Automobile and Touring Association (SATA). We help you understand the requirements and the application.

How long is an IDP valid?

According to SATA, an IDP issued in Saudi Arabia is valid for one year from the date of issue and cannot be extended. Permits from other countries may differ.

Does an IDP replace my driving licence?

No. It is a translation of your licence and is only valid together with it. Carry both whenever you drive abroad.
